Sutter Buttes Energy Partership (SBEP)

The Sutter Buttes Energy Watch Partnership is a collaboration between PG&E and local government in Colusa, Sutter, and Yuba Counties. The program is funded by PG&E and administered by the City of Yuba City.

SBEWP helps residents, businesses, and governments in the three counties to connect with programs, tools, education, resources, and financial incentives to help save energy and money while helping to reduce environmental impact.

So far, the program has:

  • Trained local contractors on Building Performance Institute (BPI) practices for assessing home energy performance.
  • “Benchmarked” the annual energy consumption at several local schools to help administrators understand how their school is performing relative to others—a key first step to improving energy performance.
  • Created a Lending Library of tools and equipment that can be checked out by local contractors and used to conduct energy audits, helping them to avoid the need to invest in expensive equipment.
  • Helped the three counties to reduce their 2015 energy consumption by over 1 million kWh.
